Everything You Missed in my 2-Ingredient Salad Dressing Series

Published on 20 February 2026 at 11:09

Hi everyone! I’m Marissa Powers, owner of Powers Health & Wellness, and if you were following along, you know we just wrapped up an incredible series on two-ingredient dressings. As a Board-Certified Health Coach with over 20 years experience in Food & Nutrition, my mission is to show you that healthy eating doesn't have to be as intimidating as assembling IKEA furniture.

We made 10 unique recipes using just 20 total ingredients—no repeats! Please note, these dressings aren't just for salads; they moonlight as marinades, spreads, and sauces.

Why Ditch the Bottle?

Store-bought dressings are often "bad roommates" for your body. They are frequently packed with:

  • Refined oils that can contribute to inflammation

  • Added sugars and artificial colors.

  • Preservatives designed to help the bottle survive the apocalypse.

If the label looks like a science experiment, it's time to take control of your kitchen.

The "Perfect Salad" Techniques

Before we get to the recipes, here are two pro-tips from my years in professional kitchens:

  1. Paint the Bowl: Instead of pouring dressing on top, whisk it in the bottom of your bowl and "paint" the sides. When you toss your greens, they pick up the dressing evenly.

  2. Wipe the Rim: An artist doesn't paint on the frame! Wiping the rim of your bowl before serving makes the presentation beautiful, and after all, we eat with our eyes.
